Pastel Dust!

I have been experimenting with some pastels that a friend gave me. They are good if you want to feel productive and have something finished in a few minutes.

I just finished this piece at the request of a client. Back at CCS I was warned about the bizarre things that people will ask you to do at which point you don’t ask, just draw. This was a very fun project that allowed me to play with dramatic lighting and iconic faces. Below I have posted some of the process work, from drawing to shadow study to rough color to final painting. The final painting was done on stanford illustration board with liquitex acrylic paint and prisma color pencil. Enjoy!!
